Episode 7: Setting Goals and New Year’s Resolutions

In this episode I discuss goal setting. Setting goals is one of the most important life skills which is needed in both our professional and out personal lives.

Why do we set goals?

-Our current reality is not aligned with our values and we want to orient ourselves and/or our work toward those values

-What we value is the WHY in goal setting

How to set goals?

            Set SMART goals

            S specific

            M measurable

            A achievable

            R relevant

            T timed

Make sure to set short term goals as well as long term goals.

The goals that you set are the WHAT. What you hope to achieve.

You also need to think about the HOW. What will you actually do to achieve your goals.

Don’t forget about regular assessment of progress toward your goals to keep yourself accountable.
